about

This is material that I've almost deleted probably an astronomical number of times, music can be a frustrating labour on occasion! I find audio quality is (at least in parts) quite poor and the only way I could explain it away is that these signals came from far away and were thus faint, warped, imperfect.

I've come to think of it as a document, a chronicle of sorts, that is worth preserving in some form for the ideas inherent to it and the poetic value it holds for me.

No matter how pixelized the pale blue dot picture was, Carl Sagan saw in it a reflection of ourselves and offered us the most lucid perspective on humanity. His speech was both bleak and hopeful, it exposed so clearly the atrocities we inflict upon each other for vain ends that I cannot help weep every time I read or hear it. If you have never heard it, I recommend you take a few minutes to listen and a lifetime to reflect.

These words are to this day valid and legitimate, and will remain so for as long as there is no true, profound and enduring humanitarian revolution.

The prism by which we should measure progress is the way we treat one another; locally, globally. Also the way we treat and share our habitat. This is no political pamphlet but I let you draw your own conclusions and figure out what work need be done so that we may reach a more egalitarian and sustainable world. It is of the essence.

Until then, take care & pay attention.
